2nd Regional Innovation Expo, Recognized in the Regional Industry Promotion Category
Evaluated for Reflecting On-Site Demand and Actively Supporting Businesses and Resolving Issues
Busan Technopark (Busan TP), led by Director Kim Hyung-gyun, won the ‘Minister of SMEs and Startups Award’ in the Regional Industry Promotion category at the 2nd Regional Innovation Expo held in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do on the 6th. The award recognized Busan TP’s achievements in establishing regional industry development plans and fostering key regional industries.
Busan TP introduced the ‘Corporate Dedicated Responsibility System (Butler)’, which reflects on-site demand to identify long-term improvement tasks for companies and actively resolve their issues. The organization secured a new project worth 33.1 billion KRW to build energy self-sufficient infrastructure, promoting smart manufacturing innovation and the establishment of a battery material cluster. Busan TP also runs programs linking job creation and shared university collaborations in fields such as power semiconductors, secondary batteries, and hydrogen energy.
Additionally, Busan-based company DASCO (CEO Lee Geun-young) won the Ministerial Award in the Regional Industry Promotion category for enterprises.
In addition to the Ministerial Award, Busan TP received an ‘Excellent (A)’ rating in the annual institutional management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups across 19 technoparks nationwide.
The Regional Innovation Expo is an event hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to recognize and spread successful examples of regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event rewards organizations, institutions, and individuals who have contributed to the revitalization of regional industries and economies.
